Privacy Policy

BridgeDays ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. It applies to our mobile application BridgeDays (the "App") available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with any of the terms, please discontinue use of the App. For questions, contact us at info@zukasoft.com.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account or use certain features of the App, we may collect:

  • Email address — used for account authentication, password recovery, and service communications.
  • Display name — an optional name you choose to personalize your in-app profile.
  • Profile photo — if you optionally add one via your account settings.
  • Trip details — destination, travel dates, city notes, and any content you create within the Trip Planner feature.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and language settings.
  • Usage data: screens viewed, features used, buttons tapped, session duration, and crash reports.
  • Log data: IP address, access times, and referring pages (if applicable).
  • Performance data: app load times, error logs, and diagnostics.

1.3 Calendar Data

If you use the Calendar Sync feature, we request access to your device's calendar (Google Calendar or Apple Calendar). We only write holiday and event data that you explicitly choose to add. We do not read, store, or share your existing calendar events.

1.4 In-App Purchase Data

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not receive, store, or process your payment card information. We do receive a confirmation of purchase status (active / expired) from Apple or Google to unlock Premium features within the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your user account.
  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features.
  • Personalise your experience (e.g., saved countries, trip history).
  • Verify Premium subscription status and unlock paid features.
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation, password reset).
  • Send optional push notifications about upcoming holidays or trips (you can opt out at any time in device settings).
  • Improve the App through analytics and crash reporting.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

3. Firebase & Google Analytics

We use Google Firebase services, including:

  • Firebase Authentication — for secure sign-in via email/password and social providers.
  • Firebase Firestore — to store user profile data and trip content in the cloud.
  • Firebase Analytics — to understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the App.
  • Firebase Crashlytics — to detect and diagnose app crashes.

Firebase Analytics may collect device identifiers and usage events. Data is stored on Google servers and governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You may opt out of Firebase Analytics by disabling analytics in your device's privacy settings.

4. Advertising & Google AdMob

The free tier of BridgeDays displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data including:

  • Advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) to serve personalised ads.
  • Device information and coarse location data.
  • Ad interaction data (views, clicks).

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:

  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track".
  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalisation".

Premium subscribers do not see advertisements. AdMob data practices are governed by Google's Advertising Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers: Firebase/Google (cloud infrastructure, analytics, authentication), Apple/Google (in-app purchases), AdMob (advertising on free tier).
  • Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate confidentiality obligations.
  • Your consent: in any other case, only with your explicit consent.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business interest (e.g., fraud prevention records). Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, Firebase's server-side encryption at rest, and role-based access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

8. Children's Privacy

BridgeDays is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@zukasoft.com and we will promptly delete it.

9. Your Rights

9.1 GDPR Rights (EEA / UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@zukasoft.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

9.2 CCPA Rights (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected about you.
  • Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed, and to whom.
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
  • Access your personal information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Equal service and price, even if you exercise your privacy rights.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to — and processed in — countries other than the country in which you reside (including the United States), where data protection laws may differ. Firebase services primarily operate on Google's global infrastructure. By using the App you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses where required).

11. Push Notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications for holiday reminders and trip alerts. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device's notification settings or within the App's Settings screen.

12. Links to Third-Party Sites

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page or by sending an in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
